“Transformational Mask Making: Spirit Expressed”
Inline image 1In this fun, experiential mask-making workshop, we will explore the use of masks for transformation and expression of Spirit. We will work in sacred space in the tradition of ceremonial mask makers throughout the ages. We will use plaster casting material, paint, fine papers, natural materials, wool, fabric and other materials that participants wish to work with. In the final session, we will bring our masks alive and give them voice through ritual and ceremony, including a parade of masks inspired by the concurrent drumming class. Facilitator: Maggie Yowell

All About Wednesday Evenings at The Center at St. Andrew’s
These evenings buzz with the life of our learning community–made up of regulars, newcomers, returning students and one-timers. All are welcome–once or many times! Our Center Wednesday evenings follow the same rhythm throughout the year. For those drawn to silent prayer and meditation, we begin with Centering Prayer at 5:45 PM in the Chapel. At 6:15 PM supper is served in the Parish Hall. Classes begin at 7 PM. Suppers are not only the best meal deal in town (at $6), they are also a wonderful opportunity to visit and to get to know each other better. Pay ahead for all five suppers in a term at $25 and get an even better deal. Childcare is available with at least 24 hours’ notice.
Registration Details Most (not all) classes offered at The Center have a course fee to enable us to offer a breadth of courses with gifted instructors and facilitators. If you can add a little extra to your fee, you can make it possible for someone who can’t afford the fee to take a class. A money-saving strategy: pay your fee at least one week ahead of class and get a $10 price break. Students, seniors, and low-income always get that $10 break. Early registration not only gives you a lower fee, it also helps with planning. Please fill out a registration form to help The Center staff keep track of pertinent info. Registration forms available by emailing The Center office .
While you are registering for class, if you know you are going to be joining us for supper, you can pay ahead for suppers too–$25 for all five evenings. That gives you a little price break and saves you searching purse or pockets for the right change. Knowing how many will be there is also a courtesy to our cooks and helps them to prepare the right amount. Then we benefit from the luxury of a delicious meal to complete the evening and give us strength for the journey.
