Director of Faith Formation for Children & Youth
Jordan is the son of Cal and Ann Uomoto. He is a 4th generation Japanese-American, born and raised in Seattle’s Central District. Growing up his parents worked with refugees and their ministry of hospitality gave Jordan one image of what it could look like to participate in Jesus’ continuing work in the world. Because of that experience and many others Jordan desired to be a part of Jesus’ community. He is currently discerning a call to ministry as a candidate for ordination in the Presbyterian Church (USA), the faith community in which he was raised. Ordination in the PC(USA) is understood as an affirmation of God’s call to a specific task or community, and so it is Jordan’s desire to have his ministry at St Andrew’s be affirmed through the ordination process. He graduated from Seattle Pacific Seminary with a Master of Divinity in 2015. Prior to coming to St. Andrew’s he was the Interim Pastor at Japanese Baptist Church.
Jordan is a home-body who enjoys poetry, bboying, sharing meals and conversation, and things that spin. He went to Garfield High School where he met his wife Grace during a spring musical; they have a son named Ezra.
