A four-week series developed as a follow-up to Speaking of Dying documentary  Wednesdays, Wednesdays, October 11 - November 1, 7-8:30 pm  This past spring, The Center at St. Andrew's presented a series entitled "Speaking of Dying." The first session was a screening of the film Speaking of Dying - Living Deeply, Dying Well, produced by Trudy James, who herself led the discussion afterwards. Fall Speakers Series at The Center Sister and Brothers All: Perspectives on Immigration Wednesdays, October 4 – November 1, 7 – 8:30 pm, Parish Hall Session 4, October 25: “Discrimination, Immigration, Deportation and Exclusion: An Historical and a Personal Jewish Story” with Rabbi Ted Falcon and Ruth Neuwald Falcon, who have collaborated in the growth of innovative synagogues in Los Angeles and in Seattle. Sunday Forum: Luther’s Reformation 500 years ago and How It Shapes the Christian Community Today

October 31, 2107 marks the 500th anniversary Martin Luther’s nailing the Ninety-Five Theses to the door of the church in Wittenberg, Germany. Commonly marked as the beginning of the Lutheran Reformation, this act served as the first of Luther’s challenges to the theological beliefs within the contemporary Catholic Church. Three ideas in particular mark Luther’s theology–Justification by Faith, Sola Scriptura, and the Priesthood of all believers. Volunteers are always welcome to help cook, set up, serve and clean up this community dinner that is served in the Parish Hall on the last Sunday of every month. Dinner is served at 2 pm.
