A four-week series developed as a follow-up to Speaking of Dying documentary
Wednesdays, Wednesdays, October 11 – November 1, 7-8:30 pm
This past spring, The Center at St. Andrew’s presented a series entitled “Speaking of Dying.” The first session was a screening of the film Speaking of Dying – Living Deeply, Dying Well, produced by Trudy James, who herself led the discussion afterwards.
Trudy has offered to return to St. Andrew’s in the fall to conduct an “End-of-Life Planning Workshop,” the four-week series she developed as a follow-up to Speaking of Dying. It is not necessary to have attended the spring session in order to attend the series this fall. The sessions, scheduled to run on four consecutive Wednesdays (October 11 – November 1, 2017) will provide an opportunity for participants to go into depth and detail regarding their end-of-life wishes and allow time to complete the paperwork to ensure those wishes are met. Topics include:
The cost for this 4-part session is $125.00 per person, or $100 per person for couples or family members. This fee includes a binder, advanced directive and many handouts, as well as Trudy’s wisdom over many years of working with those dying and their families. All proceeds from the class will be collected by The Center at St. Andrew’s and passed on to Heartwork for continued support of Trudy and her ministry. Visit Trudy’s website for more information about her organization and particularly about the “speaking of dying” work.
This series is open to all whether you saw the movie or not.
Registration due by August 15
Full registration fee of $125 requested with your registration by August 15. Please download registration form here. Some partial scholarships and sliding scale fees available. Please inquire of Center Program Director Cherry Haisten at 206-523-7476 or e-mail Trudy James.
You are welcome to invite a family member or friend to attend with you. A discount is available for a couple. Please inquire. Trudy requires a guaranteed minimum of eight students to offer the class. Maximum number of students is twelve.
If we do not meet the minimum by August 15 we may have to cancel plans for the class. I hope this worthwhile opportunity will be a go. We will have at least one other class running concurrently and supper will be offered on all of these Wednesdays. It would be great to have your presence.
