The Center at St. Andrew's:

....space for healing, community
and lifelong learning.

St. Andrew's Episcopal Church has created a new center to integrate new work in the areas of healing, community development and lifelong learning. The Center at St. Andrew's continues the work of the Center for Christian Formation and the St. Andrew's Counseling Center, and will expand this ministry into a number of new and exciting areas.

CLASSES & EVENTS

Contemplative Wednesdays at The Center

Centering Prayer every Wednesday Evening, 5:45pm

All are welcome to participate in our gathering for silent prayer every Wednesday evening at 5:45 in the chapel. On most Wednesdays of the summer we will have two periods of Centering Prayer—twenty minutes each—with a short contemplative walk between the “sits.” If you like to spend time in silent prayer or meditation, even if you do not follow the Centering Prayer method, you are welcome to join in. If you would like instruction in the Centering Prayer method, please contact Cherry at cherry@saintandrewsseattle.org or 206-517-3938. If you would like to be added to the Centering Prayer at St. Andrew’s email list, please contact Tom Bostelmann, co-facilitator of our Wednesday evening gatherings, at tbostelmann@gmail.com.

Potluck Gathering with Sharing about Snowmass

Wednesday, June 25, 6:30pm, Library

All regular Centering Pray-ers and anyone else interested is welcome to join us for an informal potluck supper at 6:30pm in the Library after Centering Prayer. Cherry Haisten spent two weeks in May in a combined retreat and advanced study course at St. Benedict’s Monastery in Snowmass, Colorado, with Fr. Thomas Keating. She will share something of her experience both of the monastery itself and of the teaching she received. She will have photos and other “show-and-tell” items to share.

Contemplative Eucharist

Wednesday, July 2, 6:30pm, Chancel

Following our Centering Prayer gathering on Wednesday, July 2, Fr. Terry Steig, St. Andrew’s Assisting Priest and Pastoral Counseling Director of The Center at St. Andrew’s, will lead us in a Contemplative Eucharist. This is a simple, peaceful service with scripture reading and communion punctuated by longer periods of silence than we normally experience in a regular liturgy. The short service will be over by 7:30. Please join us for this moving service that takes us more deeply into prayer. You are welcome to come to Centering Prayer in the Chapel before the service or to the service alone or both.
